Fundraising Opportunities Help the Dream Come True

Asperger Connection has exciting news! Along with our new name, we've got fresh and exciting fundraising plans for the summer!

On Friday and Saturday, July 24-25th, Asperger Connection proudly partners with Little Professor Book Center in Homewood for our Book Fair fundraiser, featuring over 250 books on Asperger Syndome and Autism! Asperger Connection receives 20% of the proceeds from the purchase of any book, store-wide on these two days only. Little Professor is a locally-owned book store and cafe, offering all of the books on your summer and back-to-school book lists. Watch the blog for a sneak preview of the featured book list, and let us know what you think. Read on to find out how to get a $5 coupon to the book fair!  Come visit the book store during their store hours.

As a part of our Facebook Campaign to raise awareness, Asperger Services is gearing up for an online fundraiser! Watch your e-mail inbox for exciting updates as we work to reach our online fundraising goal of $1500 by August 1st. Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support our fundraising efforts. We are so appreciative of your support, and we realize that every bit helps. We don't want to ask for too much, that is why we are asking for "a little bit from a lot of people." So, share the link and the news about what your contributions are funding:

(1) Development of an internship program for high school students with AS by Summer 2010
(2) Supported opportunities for generalization of social skills interactions in "real world" environments for elementary and middle school students with AS by Spring 2010
(3) Young adult social group for young adults with AS by Fall 2009
(4) Mentor programs for children with AS by Spring 2010

To keep the momentum going later this summer, we'll learn more about our 5% Whole Foods Day! We'll also be sharing information about how you may help jumpstart our internship program just by firing up your oven in support of our Breakroom Bake Sale.

Thanks to Susan Tucker of Tucker Massey Marketing, Asperger Connection will be unveiling our new logo and t-shirts very soon! Stay glued to the blog to be among the first to see our new look, and keep an eye out for our Dress Down Day flyer, which invites supporters to don the new t-shirts as they "Get Casual for a Cause" at work.

Thank to all of our friends for sharing our enthusiasm and Asperger Connection's mission to provide services for children and adults with AS. We realize that we can only make this happen with your support!
